Oral Presentation
An oral presentation is a procurement method where offerors present their proposed approach, qualifications, and solution directly to the government evaluation team. Oral presentations may substitute for or supplement portions of a written proposal, particularly the technical and management volumes.
Oral presentations are increasingly used in federal procurement because they allow evaluators to assess the offeror's understanding of requirements through interactive dialogue, observe the proposed key personnel, and reduce the burden of lengthy written proposals.
Preparing for an oral presentation requires extensive rehearsal, clear visual aids, and a deep understanding of the requirements. Presentations are typically time-limited and may include a question-and-answer session. The evaluation criteria for oral presentations should be clearly defined in the RFP.
